Significant product changes:

For major updates, we'll help you decide the best approach:

Minor improvements: Update the existing listing. Examples:

  • Improved purity

  • Enhanced packaging

  • Extended shelf life

  • Minor formulation optimisation

Major formulation changes: Create a new product listing. Examples:

  • Different cell line source

  • Substantially modified media composition

  • Alternative scaffold material

  • New bioreactor generation

This prevents confusion for buyers who purchased the previous version and want to reorder the same formulation.

Product discontinuation: Archive the old listing. We may:

  • Mark as "No longer available"

  • Show replacement recommendations

  • Maintain the page for existing customer reference

  • Redirect to alternative products

Buyer communication for major changes:

When making significant updates, we can help you:

  • Add detailed update notes to product descriptions

  • Send direct notifications to past buyers

  • Create comparison information between versions

  • Answer buyer questions about changes

Your account manager coordinates these communications to maintain buyer confidence.

Version control support:

For products with multiple formulations or versions:

  • We can create separate listings for each version

  • Link related products together

  • Maintain clear naming conventions (v1, v2, etc.)

  • Help buyers understand which version suits their needs

Best practices:

Be proactive with updates: Contact us when you have:

  • New certifications obtained

  • Improved manufacturing processes

  • Extended shelf life data

  • Enhanced product performance

  • Supply chain improvements

These updates strengthen your listings and buyer confidence.

Communicate price increases early: Give us advance notice (1 week preferred) for price increases. We can:

  • Schedule the change for a specific date

  • Notify buyers with favourited products

  • Allow time for buyers to order at current pricing

  • Update volume discount tiers accordingly

Keep documentation current: Send updated COAs and specification sheets as they become available. Fresh documentation builds buyer trust.

Monitor competitor changes: If competitor pricing or specifications change significantly, your account manager can advise on positioning updates to maintain competitiveness.
